Can someone explain to me how Russia's supposed interference in the election is any different than the Washington Post's confirmed actions?

We know this for certain. Jeff Bezos and the Washington Post intercepted a private communication between Billy Bush and disseminated that conversation in an attempt to throw the presidential election in favor of Hillary Clinton.
We have an idea that the Russians hacked into Hillary Clinton's commercial emails as a public figure and released those truths (verbatim) in an attempt to influence a US presidential election.
If both WaPo and Russia stole private conversations and shared them in their unedited form, why is one called journalism and the other called an "election hack"?

  • Yes, only one of them benifited the loosing side. So they won't acknowledge or condem that one.
